Setting up the plumbing for my Reefer 250 G2. Screwed the supplied pipes into the overflow but notice that the emergency drain and main drain are the same height. What did I do wrong? Or am I missing something here?

I have the 200 and had the same question but ultimately came to the conclusion the pipe on your main drain is there to help reduce noise. There should be another pipe inside of it that serves as the actual drain. I believe water rises from below the cover as its not a very secure fit and ive never heard water flowing down that piece.

Hi.
I am new to this, and I am putting together a reefer300g2 right now. I have the same "issue" Emergency has the same height as the main drain.
Did you solve it ?
Thank you in advance

Kasper

The clear top/outer tube part of the main drain is just to prevent things like snails, etc from getting in. So the main drain is in fact a few inches shorter than the emergency drain.

Ahhhh ... I am stupid.
The water is rising, its not "dropping.
It's rising in the big tube. Makes sense. If I understand you correctly

So wait. Where does the water go down into the sump from? The clear white tube one or the middle tube?

Technically both. the clear one is the main drain, and you want the water level to "just" trickle into the middle drain. That would be your best and quietest operation. but because it is Red Sea... good luck with that. In my experience it will never stay steady, it will drift over weeks.
