My fluval 106 isn’t fully closing and it won’t push water out the outtake. It keeps leaking and i’ve flooded my room 3 times :o

Canister filters won't work if they're not sealed. Remove everything and make sure all the parts are seated correctly, and that there's no debris or maybe a piece of loose carbon in the bottom preventing one of the dividers from seating completely into the bottom.

Specifically to that filter

the gasket cannot roll up all the way on the neck it has a required channel that is the issue I’ll bet, the o ring must seat in the channel it can’t be at the top. I have one of those

I took everything apart like five times and re adjusted it so I’m lost

Sometimes it's helpful to get those gaskets wet or lubricate it before trying to seed the lid down. It reduces friction and keeps the gasket from moving while assembly. Sorry your having so much trouble. I would inspect the body of the filter and the lid really well for any cracks or fractures. Is this a new canister filter? If so you could return or exchange it for a new one. Good luck

I’ve been contacting fluval and they’ve basically been no help since I don’t have my reciept haha

I would really try a new gasket. I had an eheim gasket go and it looked fine. The Fluval gasket is $7.
My eheim looked and felt fine to the touch. Still I had the same issues you did.

Edit: I have a 207 and 307. I love the Fluval design and I love how easy it is to clean. I did have the 207 malfunction so now I use them with caution when taking off the hose connection to clean. These things are designed great but build leaves something to be desired.

back on topic: make sure you don’t over stuff it with media and once a year expect to have to change the gasket. Remember if you are opening the filter up every week it’s gonna wear down. Freshwater I open the canister once a month.

anyhow I hope you find out what’s wrong bc canister filter issues are not fun. In the fresh world a canister issue CAN mean EVERYTHING gets shut down. my co2 and heater all run inline with the canister.
