i don't recognize this type of algae.

• how long has it been growing in the tank?
• how old is your tank?
• what are your latest nitrate and phosphate readings?
• have you tried reducing your tank's photoperiod / reducing tank feedings?
• is it smothering any corals?
• do you have snails / hermit crabs in your tank?

Those look to be clove polyps or some type of xenia (Types of coral)
I think you have a very healthy colony if thats indeed what it is. Ive had pulsing xenia take over a nano tank before. It can happen.

wow, they do look like clove polyps. i couldn’t discern the familiar ‘palm fronds’ off the individual heads.

what recourse does the OP have besides completely removing any & all infested rock?
