I m new to saltwater tank
I m at cycling stage
I used RODI water,Redsea Coral pro salt, Heater(27°C), Redsea live Sand, Skimmer, Sansibar rocks
But there is a white substance building on my sand bed and every time i blow it up the substance flows all over my tank and also the water get cloudy
Is the white substance good or bad??
Please help me in cycling :(:(:(

The debris is from the sand. I am guessing you did not rinse prior to use. No huge deal, but will take time to filter out the particles. If I were you, I would get a simple HOB (hang on back) filter with floss or sponge and run it on the tank to get the particles out. Stir it up when needed or use a powerhead to keep stirred up so filter can get it all.
If you have a sump running, run a sock on overflow pipe. Keep flow in main tank to stir it up and get all the particles out. It will clear up and cycle. Patience.

It was a live sand and on the pack it was wrote that no need to wash

I get it. However, rinsing is always good. Could use saltwater, but most do not. Also could be a bacteria bloom, but since you said it settles, it is from the sand. As I said, not a big deal. Just need to filter it out to keep from happening all the time.

I actually gave up on live sand long ago. I prefer to get the dry sand, rinse and add. Most beneficial bacteria and creatures live in the rocks and will populate the sand quickly enough. JMO

What should be the heater temperature while cycling??

If the white substance is jelly like it’s bacteria, I don’t see any live rock in your tank..

My new tank is the same. I used a little live sand and a little dry sand. The dry sand is dusty even though I washed it. It’ll settle eventually. It’s frustrating though.... it settles, I put hand in to arrange rock and POOF here we go again!

Temp as stated can be anywhere from 74 to 80. Stay in the parameters of reef water. I would definitely not have lights on during cycle. Keeps algae issues under control. No need for it either.

You do have rock in the tank? Was it "live"?

Sounds like you've got things under control. The "cloud" from new substrate will take a while to settle out. Even if you'd started with dry sand and rinsed it really well, you'll still get some cloudiness, it's unavoidable.

It looks like you are new to the hobby and to this forum. Welcome, there's a lot of expertise here to help you!

You'll hear this from a lot of people here, but patience is the number one key to success in reefing. To that end, I would suggest you consider the titles of your posts. This one has the word "Emergency" and a total of 8 exclamation points. I realize this may have seemed like an emergency, but given the title I would have expected to hear that your aquarium cracked or that all your fish died overnight. I only say this because as you go through the process of establishing your system you will surely run into problems much greater than this, and I want to make sure you have exclamation points left to use then.

Glad to have you here!
