Emergency leak fix!?

Has anyone ever heard of or tried this stuff before? Would be handy to have around for emergency fixes, but Seems too good to be true.

I personally think it looks to good to be true, plus it looks like an infomercial and those are usually selling snake oil.

Silicone can be toxic if not cured, I wonder what curing agent is in this product.

He is referring to flex tape which isn't silicone based.

Could this work to stop a seam leak quickly? Quite possible, it sticks and seals to any surface wet or dry. Might be an interesting experiment to try.

Seems to be made flex seal. I think it might work for a fast temporary fix. Look at NASCAR they have tape that holds great over 200mph.

Yea it's a tape, and it might work but I didn't think about what type of harm it may pose chemically to our livestock so maybe not a good idea.

True, but in a pinch I'd say the loss of water would likely become more deadly much more quickly

I think it could be useful to give you time to perform a controlled drain-and-move of a tank with a leaking seal (and I'd use it from the inside, rather than slapping it onto the outside) but I wouldn't rely on it for more than that. Also note, the surfaces to which they're attaching this tape-patch are sparkling, squeaky clean. If your tank sprang a leak suddenly, would the surface around that seam be as clean as these?
