Hi all, I've had this CDA tank for about a year. My overflow is leaking for some reason (all over my brand new floor yikes), and during inspection I noticed the bottom front seam of the tank showing some pretty serious bubbles. I don't remember those being there when I filled the tank -- I would've sent it back. The tank is super stout, every seam is braced and reinforced with more glass so I'm surprised to see this. I'm wondering if this is something I should be concerned about?
In addition, due to this circumstance, I am strongly considering downsizing to an AIO -- I just can't have this kind of stress with the bigger tank seam and external overflow acting up with my job and upcoming travel. In this case I would have two fish: a tomini tang and a blue tang that would need new homes (and a ton of RBTAs if anyone is interested). If anyone would be willing to trade equipment for them I'd be happy to work something out.
I am in the 92677 (south OC) area and trying to figure out what to do right now. I need to get under the tank to clean the mess that just happened, which means I need to move the tank, which means draining it anyways, so at this point I'm wondering if I should just commit to the switch and be done with it even if the tank doesn't have issues. If that's the case, where can I find a stout tank around here? I may contact CDA and see if they'll build me a different tank, but that would take time.
I am going to try not to stress about this according to CDA's response... but I would like to know what everyone thinks anyways. "Trust, but verify."
