How long has he been in the acclimation box. Did you Qt him before hand?

I see the tiger in the back lurking. I would put a piece of PVC in the acclimation box. Something for him to hide by.

From your picture the box is doing it's job. I wouldn't release him till the powder blue is not paying attention to him.

Him not eating in the box appears to be stress from the PBT.

In the box for 4 days. Still not eating and stressed. Should I move to separate tank. His conditions seems deteriorating slowly. Released in tank for 5 mins and other tangs took a bite at him. So kept in the box itself. But still it looks weak. Should I move him to separate tank ??

how to reduce stress now ??

What’s stress from PBT bro. Sorry a newbie.

I would dim the lights. Looks like it might be fish only anyways.

You can put a mirror on the tank to distract the other fish from attacking him since they should want to attack their reflection instead.

Do NOT drip fish for 3 hours! If the salinity is close then fish should go right into the tank/box. Drip is a method back from cichlids that was brought over to saltwater fish before we knew how to keep them alive and it keeps circulating. Unless salinity is much lower, it is more harm than good.

A large fish in a bag with poorly oxygenated water and in their own waste/ammonia for 3 hours. No no no.

If you need to drip then you move to matched fresh saltwater in a bucket and drip from there.

Fine bro. But main issue is stress. It’s not eating anything so far.

yes, dimming the lights will help with stress. You can try letting it out with a mirror on the tank to distract the other fish from attacking.

powder blues are mean and adding a tang after a powder blue can be difficult.

I say put it in a different tank with low light and lots of hiding places. Give it time to recover. At this rate it will die if you leave it as it is.

PBT is powder blue tang.

At minimum, put multiple places to hide inside that box, it's probably freaked out from being completely exposed. Poor lil thing. Dim the lights, that should help.

Looks like the sailfin was tagged already - the dorsal fin has damage and there are some random bite marks. Was it like that when you got it? Can you post your full stock list for your tank? I'm worried that you won't be able to safely release this fish into that tank if your PBT acts like they typically do.

This fish is more stressed than anything due to intimidation and aggression from others which leads to question-
How was fish acclimated and how was it introduced to tank ? I try to introduce at or before lights out and as Tamberav said- Powder Blue can be very UNinviting- PBT happens to be my tank jerk and I have 20 tangs.
These sailfins are fish that normally eat right away and If powder blue is only fish bothering it, I would suggest to place the powder blue in the acclimation box and move sailfin to the display tank
