Emergency Purigen Leak

Hi all,

A bag of stupid purigen has ripped and leaked into my 250 gallon rank. All the little purigen balls are floating around.
Will this kill or harm my fish?!
I don’t know how to remove them. Over time I assume the filtration will remove them. But right now I feel powerless and afraid these tiny purigen will get stuck in their gills or stomach.

Are they floating or did they sink? I don’t think they would harm anything, but they are really small :/

Maybe a filter sock will be fine enough to scoop them out?

They are floating. I have filter towers. But it’ll take a long time for 250 gallons to filter. They are tiny.

If you have a small net, you can put an unbleached coffee filter in it (if you don’t have a filter sock) so the purigen wont get out. Could net quite a lot that way.

Thank you all for the responses. The purigen got filtered out and my fish are fine. I was afraid the tiny particles would clog their gills. But everything seems good.
