I am hoping not to kill two brand new Ocellaris Clowns by raising salinity too fast. Here is the issue... Bought the clowns on Friday from LFS, and they keep them at 1.017 in the store. I had them at 1.019 in the QT, and was going to raise it .02 every three days until .025. Unfortunately, I found out this morning my contractor is starting some renovations tomorrow (drywall) in the room where the QT is. I had to raise the salinity to .022 this morning, and will have to put them in the DT tomorrow morning at .025. I cant leave the QT there, and cant set it up anywhere else. Do you think the rapid increase of 7-8 points over 4-5 days will kill them?

I feel it is unlikely to be a problem. Many fish make that jump rapidly. What you are doing has much less risk and is less stressful for the fish so I encourage the gradual increase but even an immediate move today would be much better than what many people do.

Ok, great. I am still really new at this and am nervous about doing anything fast in this hobby... Thanks for the info!

Should be ok . Clowns are tough fish. Just go as slow as you can over time you have.

I wouldn't worry about it. Clowns are hearty fish and aren't likely to meet their demise over this.
