Just to clarify non-iodized table salt seemed like a perfectly good plant-only solution, and I was using a BRS refractometer. With an experiment open to the rain I was unwilling to buy ocean salt for it.
I am coming from opposite side, I have a full blown PlantedTank community based knowledge and experience and are now going Marine with it. Not sure if running CO2 in a marine tank is a good idea, but I never used CO2 in my planted tanks only liquid metricide aka Seachem Excel.
