Ever since I first set up my sw tank I've had an emperor 400 going without biowheels, but with the spray bars for aeration. I turned it off to see if that helped minimize the microbubbles, and IT WORKED. However, now I'm worried about
Not enough oxygen saturation in the tank. Legitimate concern?

I have 3 koralia power heads, with one only a couple inches beliw the waterline. I have a seaclone skimmer, that actually pulls dark skimmate. I was thinking that, even though this is a small skimmer on my 75g, it would still saturate the water with enough oxygen to allow me to remove the HOB.

think you should be fine with what you are using if you start to get a film on the water surface adjust a powerhead to get the surface moving

Thanks guys. I have almost no bubbles floating around now. I love it. Do you see any reason to keep the emperor around anymore? If not, I'll just remove it completely tonight, clean it, and put it on my grandma's 30g freshwater tank.

The additional water flow, and the ability to run carbon in it are a plus, but not a necessity.

The additional water flow probably isn't that much. I think I can fill that void by hanging up the current flow I have now. Putting carbon in it would be a plus though.
