Emperor Angel Fish Is a Big Talker

Does anyone here own a Emperor Angel? If so, does your talk all day like ours?

I lost mine in the aftermath of a house fire a few years ago, but I had him for three or four years. If by talk, you mean grunt or bark like a dog, then yes, mine did all the time. I could hear him upstairs when the tank is in the basement.

I hear the most grunting from mine during feeding time. He Grunts to scare the other fish away from “his” food. It is getting loud enough that the dog thinks someone is knocking at the door.

THAT IS HYSTERICAL!! OURS DO, IN FACT IF SHE GRUNTS WHILE YOU HAPPEN TO BE TOUCHING OR DOING TANK WORK, YOU ACTUALLY FEEL THE VIBRATIONS ON THE TANK. PRETTY POWERFULL ACTUALLY!

we love ours, but she became so aggressive towrds her mates, and she is nasty to the other fish all the time,lol. we love her though, one of our original fish! she is getting real big too!

Mine grunts when he is happy, mad, eating, or just trying to get my attention. If I'm near the tank and ignoring his chattering, I get splashed.

Very interesting personality.

I also can't take a photo without him being in it. Always has to be front and center.

The grunting is what makes it my favorite angel! It would grunt at other fish during feeding time.
