Emperor Angel tank size

Had a tank 25 yrs ago as a teen and not knowing any better kept a yellow tang, a lion fish, and a snowflake eel in a 29 gallon tank. Looking to get back into the hobby but want to do it right. I always wanted an emperor angel. As far as tank size I see 6 ft long is minimum. Does height matter? Because I love the look of the waterbox frag tanks.

My Emperor Angel utilises every inch of my 8x2.5x2x5ft tank. These guys can get very large and should probably be afforded as much room as reasonably possible. If I was to downsize to a 6ft I’d probably rehome mine because it just doesn’t seem like enough for him.

Nice deep tank is way to go. They like swimming room. I would go with a small one before color change and let it grow. That's how I did mine. Eventually had to get rid of him, but lovelly fish. Had him in my 255 gallon
