Empty hermit shells

I’m getting empty hermit crab shells today so my crabs have room to move and grow. Do I need to do anything to prepare them, such as dipping before placing them in the tank.

Personally, I've never done anything to them as long as they've been soaking in a tank. Where are you getting the shells from?

Depends on the source. I've gotten mine from reefcleaners and they are clean and dry, I just drop them in.

Use your best judgement. If you are concerned, give them a quick bleach bath and let them dry completely. At the very least you could give them a good rodi rinse and rub b4 adding. Read the amazon reviews too to see if anyone has had issues.

Maybe just a put into boiling water first and then add into the tank.... After they have cooled down of course..

yeah i would boil once, they clean the shells with something before they are sold so id def boil
