I am trying to move my RBTA to a new tank and I am having difficulty getting him to release his foothold from the large piece of LR he is currently attached to. I have already tried taking the rock out of the water and hanging him over a bucket of saltwater hoping he might drop off however, he just dangled above the water. The problem is he has his foot anchored in a hole in the LR and I cant get anything in the hole to peel him off. The rock is to big to place in the new tank. He is used to being close to my T5s near the surface and I thought by placing him attached to the rock at the bottom might encourage him to move towards the light, but this does not seem to be working. He even looked like he was going to split yesterday; he expelled everything from his gut (partially digested piece of shrimp fed a few days prior) his tentacles shriveled up and he changed his shape and then went back to how he normally looks.

Has anyone had succes with any other methods? I have tried directing a powerhead towards anenomes in the past and this technique does not seem effective.

I think your best bet if you can is break the rock.If there foot is attached to rock it is pretty hard to make them release from it.

put a small maxijet next to it and direct the flow at it.. it may take a while but it will move..
dont blast it.. if you do it will just hold on tighter.. have a nice constant flow against it..

worked for me

A power head has always worked for me too. It may not happen for several days but eventually I find it will move when it is in the direct path of a powerhead.
