That is crazy!!
No doubt but I thought it's growth looked InterestingNuke it
I'm telling you if you saw it in person you'd think differently. You can see tiny new heads trying to form out of it.![]()
I've circled the parts that are tunicate. They aren't part of the anemone.
Wasn't there last weekHow long has it been there? Fast growing? It's kind of cool...
The bottom of these three circles is definitely an area of sponge growth (reminds me of a Leucosolenia sp. growth), the top in the middle shows some sponge and possibly some anemone growth, but the right circle I’m not sure on. There are definitely new, white nems growing in that mess of white sponge though (including a new one just under the circle on the right), and it’s fascinating to see.![]()

I think the OP has a mutant blobtasia that is spreading out of control. I recommend draining the tank and then refilling with concrete to prevent this menace from spreading into the wild! The bottom of these three circles is definitely an area of sponge growth (reminds me of a Leucosolenia sp. growth), the top in the middle shows some sponge and possibly some anemone growth, but the right circle I’m not sure on. I’m assuming it’s just the sponge actually encrusting, but it’s quite interesting that the nems only grow out of the sponge here. (I doubt I’ll be able to ID the nems, but I’ll definitely be taking a closer look at them tomorrow.)
Kill it with fire!
Can’t say that enoughKill it with fire!
