Hey, I have a question. So, I'm liking the bare bottom look I have for my tank with the corals encrusting on the bottom. I wanted to add sand, but what will that do to my encrusting corals (lepto, Cyphastrea, sunset Monti, Flavia, Zoas and gsp)? I guess what I'm asking is will the sand prevent them from growing and to prevent this a possible stunted growth, should I just put them all on a flat Rock on the bottom to grow over?

They will keep growing over the sand, but easier to frag off.

If you put sand over them it may kill them but who knows it may be possible that some may survive and grow out of the sand?

Also as far as I have seen the coral in my system live on the sand but never grow on it this is a photo a coral in my system that is on the sand on a frag plug that has grown well but does not use the sand for its base.
