If it can't handle high light, it's not SPS, I don't consider psammocora an SPS.
There are plenty of SPS corals that prefer lower lighting. Some strains of Seriatopora prefer lower light, many Leptoseris species are found at very high depths and are sometimes the dominant reef building coral on mesophotic reefs, there are plenty of deeper water Acropora species, Pavona tend to prefer medium lighting, and I’m sure there are many other examples.

I put mine on the bottom of my tank, often directly on the acrylic. I know that eventually they will work their way towards the rock. But by starting them there, the are usually in a place we don’t put SPS corals.

Sunset & Aquaman Monti’s have been up and down for me. Seem to be finally settling in and growing after a solid 6 months of me finding good flow/parameters.
