I understand that branching sos tend to be better off under t5 or mh lighting but are encrusting sps corals better off under sunch lighting?

I couldn't tell you about MH, but depeding on the coral, I've had good luck with entrusting corals under led. I might've had better growth under t5, but that was years ago and other factors could've been involved.

Does the shadowing of led lights effect tgeir health like it does fir branching corals?

I have multiple encrusting sps under kessils, and have grown amazingly.

I have some war coral that is both in the shade and under the leds. It's gotten pretty big. I haven't had a problem with the led shadow effect with acro branching in the same colony. Colonies under a acro that got too big and shaded other sps is a different story.
I've had more problems with acclimating corals to led and flow than anything else. Sometimes if a coral is really slow growing, I'll move it or turn my lights way down and slowly light acclimate again. Usually one of those fixes my coral growth problems.

Nice. I have been considering getting a cyphastrea which is why I asked this question. My tank is lit by a kessil too, an a350 I believe.
