Am I the only one that struggles with finding the best glue to glue down frags on to rock ?

What kind of glue are you guys using. ?

my aquascape could also use some support any recommendations for frags & rock I’ve used the two part proxy but most of the time it just breaks down and does not hold

Icy gel , dollar store super glue or even gorilla glue gel .
They all work great .
I had a very bad experience with reef 2 part and will never use it again

Many use a system that is layered with super glue/ epoxy/ super glue. I have had mixed results with it. However the much awaited Seatak is now available through champion lighting. It is used by professional coral restoration facilities so may be the answer.

Best in the business is the dollar tree special, 2 tubes for a dollar. Cyano acrylate gel super glue. I buy it by the box.

If you are buying for bulk use the best choice is BSI Gel - You can buy large tubes (size of sml toothpaste tubes) and end up being much cheaper than all the tiny eye dropper tubes.

If you are only using a little bit at a time than the PolypLabs Corals Glue is pretty amazing. Won't start to harden till it gets wet. You can leave a tube uncovered and out for as long as you want and it won't turn into a crystal rock.

If only doing a several frags at a time - Polyplabs -- If you have a frag tank and like fragging up a few dozen pieces at a time then get ahold of the BSI IC Gel.

I've been using super glue gel. Works well enough for me and very cheap.

If you're having trouble getting things to stick maybe it's the technique and not the glue.
Make a big pile on your frag, then kind of dab or rub that pile onto the rock until some of it transfers over - then place the two glue piles together and hold for a few seconds.
There is a reefbuilders video where I learned this tip.

Almost same here except usually too lazy to drive to dollar store.
$9 for 12-pack of small tubes of original Super Glue Gel on Amazon.
*glue/epoxy/glue sandwich as mentioned earlier when needed but I usually don't

Ive said it before, Ill say it now, and Ill say it again. Loc-tite gel control. Its great because if you're like me and never do something right the first time, it works great underwater.

Il'l run dow to the dollar store and save some cash and give it a shot , never used BSI but will try that one out if the dollar store glue doesn't do the trick .

The issue is that most glues are not made for water application its great adhering to the coral outside the water but once you apply and go for the rock in the tank good luck its a 50 / 50 % chance

The second issue in most cases is the glue bottle , lol most times the nozzle will glue shut and then have to open it and just ends up a lot more of a hassle to just apply and move on .

Used to love BSI gel. Best glue around. Something changed in their formula over the past year or so. Doesn’t hold for sheeyat. Went to Gorilla glue gel. Better but still not great.

Interesting, I have a case I bought of the large tubes in July / August of 2022. We have mounted close to 200+ corals in our new 750g. While some have fallen off, I can't say that's the glues fault. The numbers have been minimal.

I wonder if you got a bad batch....

I use the superglue-epoxy-superglue sandwhich method and it works well for me. For the superglue gel I just use whatever I can find at the dollar store and for the epoxy I use JB Waterweld.

Have you tried keeping the glue in the fridge? Works for me.

Could be. I will give them another try. If no joy, then back to GG.
