Petco had a sale 30% salt water..my husband went and bought 2 of them listening to Petco they do better in pairs..okay fine no problem

I do research on all fish I add to my tank before I buy, other than my husband.so I did research and they get huge!!! And now I’m scared there is 2 of them

I’m worried about my midus blenny and diamond goby.both have been in the ya me since day one,I only have a 55G

what do I do !!!!! Or how can I at least get one out..they are both hiding under the LR

They are little juveniles right now..what is the growth rate on these days per month or week???

how big is your tank

Never actually kept, from my understanding the adults do not leave their borrows in the wild, and no one knows what they eat.
So would assume you need a deeper sand bed and supports for rock work? They were on i think season 1 of blue planet.
will tag along to read about people that kept them.

Pretty cool fish but you need to make sure your rocks are on the bottom of the tank not just the bottom of the sand because they borrow and will collapse your rockscape. They grow pretty quick but not that quick.

Don't worry about huge. Have mine 2+ years and pretty much full grown at 13" and bothers no one, digs sand a little but peaceful and great feeder.

It’s only 55 gallons
have mine in a 93 cube. You'll be fine with 55g.

I have a good amount of sand due to my wrasse and diamond goby I’ve seen they are peaceful but also I read in adult hood they will turn and eat what ever can fit in their mouth so this makes me concerned one some of the smaller fish I have like

my hawk
Diamond goby
Midus blenny
Sand hopper
And my clown fish

And plus there is 2 of them o_O
so should I be worried???

whay was your growth rate of experience in 2 years please share to ease my mind

I have three firefish gobies. He could not care less about them

Even with two?? I’m just scared it’s going to eat my other fish that grow max size or 6 inch the midus blenny and diamond goby :(

please share details on this guy if you could there is not much detail on them when I search
It took mine almost 2 years to grow to 13". It has a small head.

Also my midus blenny all of a sudden is burrowing with the engineer goby is this normal ?? Lol he usually sleeps in his barnacle shells and they are on top he never goes and lays at the bottom specially under sand

So one of my engineer gobies made this burrow and my midus decided to park himself here which is rare i never seen him do this...could it be a beginning of a symbolic relationship? Cause every since I added him my blenny has been at the bottom and when he is out the hole he passed by often checking inside

good possibility.

Had the complete opposite experience and would never own a engineer goby again. Constant burrowing made the rockwork sketchy and a dotty back, yellow watchman and a beautiful wrasse were all killed by the engineer goby. One can never assume all fish will behave the same.

I had one ot was beautiful. I really liked him... butttt, he was the cause of my first tank crash... I didnt have a sump and had a glass heater... yes I know already bad news... well he dug burrows under my rocks bc I had them onto of the sand instead of on the bottom with sand around them. I came home to a avalanche of rock and a broken glass heater and 10 fish floating on top of the water dead baking under the halides... wanna talk about a bad smell... lol.

Just be careful. They are nice to have if your tank is set up proper
