Engineer Goby Pair in 29 gallon

Greetings

So I purchased a pair of Engineer Gobies for my 29 gallon + 20 sump not knowing they can grow up to a foot, LFS said a 29 gallon would be fine (which I now know is bs).

I plan to upgrade to a 75 gallon when I move out in about a year and a half, will the gobies do fine in the 29 gallon until then?

Blue Devil Damsel
Blueside Fairy Wrasse
Lawnmower Blenny

With that many fish is a 29 its hard to say how it will all play out. Just make sure not to add anything else.

I have 2 engineer gobies that started in a 32 Biocube. They did fine. They mostly hide under the rock work until feeding time. Be aware that they love to move sand around all the time hence the name “engineer”.

I had them in my 32 for almost 2 years until I upgraded to my WB 110 They went from 2 inches to 8 inches in about a year Their stripes change too which is pretty neat

When I bought the pair from Live Aquaria I was thinking I got 2 fish the size of neons based on the photo. Boy was I wrong too.

Can't speak to a 29G, but I've had 2 in my 75G for nearly 5 years. Both are about 10" long now and are family favorites. Neighborhood kid favorites too, at least, in the 'before times'....
