2 years freshwater - 1 year salt

How did you learn how to care for a saltwater tank?
Browsing on forums, YouTube, having degree in biology helps.

Why are you involved in this hobby?
I love science and chemistry and its like art to me.

What is your favorite thing about this hobby?
Solving problems and seeing results.

2.5 years freshwater and 1 year saltwater.
My sister who had a reef tank for 2 years and over 25 hours of BRS videos.
I love marine life, especially corals, fish, and invertebrates.
My favorite thing is watching the tank mature and become more beautiful over time.

LFS advice and trial & error.

To feed my inner "farmer".

The fact that you know how to spell ethnography and know what it means should earn you extra credit. I had to look it up.

How long have you been in the hobby?
Been into reefing for about four years. Been (seriously) keeping freshwater tanks for about ten.

How did you learn how to care for a saltwater tank?
Started learning the hobby from LFS and online research. R2R and BRS have really been my main source for reefing knowledge. Plus a good dose of trial and error.

Why are you involved in this hobby?
I'm a retired sailor and long time diver. Now landlocked in Missouri. My reef keeps me close to the sea. Additionally, I find my little piece of the sea fascinating, immensely beautiful, and watching the ecosystem evolve is hugely satisfying. I'm also just a little proud of my ability to actually pull it off.

What is your favorite thing about this hobby?
To be honest, I love everything about the hobby. Even routine maintenance is like therapy for me. This is a hard one. If I had to pick one absolute favorite thing about the hobby, I'd say it's the challenge of maintaining such a delicate ecosystem. Followed closely by the sheer beauty of the living reef and the interaction with my fish. I LOVE my fish!
