Enough gas exchange ?

Wondering if this is enough surface agitation for this setup. I have a power head pointed at the surface because I was worried the HOB wouldn’t be enough, but when it’s on it’s almost too much flow… nothing settles at the bottom. Will this do?

@Mikemilly245 I’m guessing that should be fine. I have HOB filters like that on two tanks and never had an issue related to gas exchange.

Okay good to know. I’ve noticed them nibbling at the surface so wondered if that was why… or if they’re just hungry lol

Adding an airstone will assure gas exchange and supply of oxygen especially if using medications

I had an air stone in my QT (this is observation, no meds) and it was a MESS. I even then just disconnected it and put only the hose in there to make bubbles and the salt creep was still insane. Not sure if there’s a solution to that but yes that’d be ideal

For the mess., simple apply saran wrap over the area of the stone to contain over spray and allow its use
