Enough to contain a Melanarus Wrasse?

Hey all,
Setting up a new tank that I plan to keep wrasses in. These are the largest gaps in my lid. Please let me know if you think these gaps should still contain my future jumpers:

Melanurus wrasse aren’t big jumpers (they dive for the sand instead) and that should be enough for most fish. A firefish or similar may still find those gaps though.

The largest gap is probably >1cm in width so perhaps I am good. I’ve had clowns escape a 1/2 inch gap before but only into the rear AIO chambers. Thanks for the help

Okay, sounds like I should further tighten up the slop in the lid. Do you think a full glass lid is okay or will I have some issues with gas exchange? I will be running a sump with some open water surface area.

I only run glass tops and I experience less condensation and easy to clean.
Glass lids need regular cleaning to prevent precipitation and filtering your lights.

You can Lao buy or fabricate a mesh lid also

My covers are mesh. I have had fish hit them and get bounced back into the tank. Gaps mean possible lost fish. Although, if the fish are large enough, they cannot get through.

I currently use a mesh lid on my biocube. I assume if I get a more mature sized wrasse it shouldn’t be an issue. I have enough flat worms to make them all too fat as well..

Every fish is different, but my Melanarus is not a jumper, but goes for the sand bed. Also, at no point was it small enough for those gaps without some extra work. That said, I have a canopy. It’s open topped, but tall enough to give me some peace of mind. If I didn’t have that the worry over potential jumping would be enough for me to get a tight lid, regardless of the real risk haha

Small flashers and fairies for sure (dont ask how I know). They tend to want to join the Apollo program at the slighest spooking.
