Erin O's 75G Build

ok thats why they cost an arm and leg compared to other freshwater fish :D
Yuh... keeping good waterflow, water quality was a must. I only kept about 10 to 15 alive. I did not have enough space for most. That was the sad part. Proper nursery would probably lose a small percent.
But in the 90s the fry, i cant recall if it was 4 or 8 weeks old.. they only sold for 10. While adult red tailed sharks went for 40-50.

Adult discus.. very expensive based on color.

Is this specific to the fry alone? The adults must be more hardy.

The nitrates can climb up on adults, they wont reproduce though. Pristine water to get them to spawn.

I'd never go over 25 nitrates with adults.

Except water quality, the hardest part is getting them to pair.

Got it. I've seen some JANKY Discus tanks that were way under filtered and over algeae'd but the adults looked great.

Might look janky, like some questionable reef tanks. It's all about water though. I've been away from discus for over 28 years. Keeping adults isn't hard. But they can die from panic attacks. (So i was told)

I wont do it again, unless i could safely get larvae that isn't contaminated. And freshly hatched brine adds up.

Ya' still have a reef right ?... ;)
I still have a few tanks lol. None of them look very pretty right now. Stupid cyano and hair algae. More flow hasn't helped much :pleading-face: I got a new CUC today, so we'll see if that helps

I definitely will. Things are so screwed up right now. I've been working super long hours at the barn getting ready for the horse show this weekend and our Big Show that starts on the 26th. Add to that the M-I-L's cancer and fracturing vertebrae, and waiting on biopsy results for my puppers (who I've had longer than I've had my kids) to see if he has cancer, I'm just feeling overwhelmed and worn down.
