Been battling these little blighters since July, when my store moved the SW fish clear across to the other end of the Fish Wall; I used to have to scrub the glass twice a day.

Started using H2O2 and it helped knock 'em back, but stressed the beans out of my invertebrates (seastars, nems, and corals were especially upset). Also used Chemiclean (only Corporate Approved product; even the H2O2 was snuck in under the radar).

I heard from a friend that erythromycin can knock back dinos without killing the beneficial bacteria, and it's a reef-safe product.

Finally remembered to bring my box of Maracyn to work, this weekend... and I'm so glad I did.

My corals are more vibrant, my rocks are staying cleaner, and my sand is no longer getting that bubbly snot carpet.
Even my nems are happier!

Much more green!

(Still not perfect, but it was only day 2 when I took the pic)

Today I mixed up the sand really well, right before dosing (which got my corals' knickers in a knot)

Boogery zoa rage...

Anyway! Thought I'd share my experience with y'all.
We're on dose 3, today.

Oh! And bonus: when my damsels mopped the floor with my six-line wrasse, it recovered, rather than succumbing to infection. Doing much better, and is eating well, now. Whew!

Ok, I'm no expert but I've been researching dinos for months now to fix my own problem. Are you sure you had dinos? Did you see them under magnification? That's the only way to be sure because they all look the same at least to me... dinos, cyano, or diatoms. At least in minor cases. Seeing them under a microscope, they appear completely different.

My guess is you used an antibiotic and killed cyano bacteria. Antibiotics won't kill Protozoa such as dinos. You'd need an anti-protozoan which I know nothing about (but will research now lol).

Again, no expert here but figured putting my thoughts out there could sparks something helpful.

Cheers! I still need to send my sample to @twillard to see exactly what they are, but the antibiotics do seem to be working. So you may be right; might just have been cyano.
Really stubborn cyano.

How much you dosed per liter or gallon of water I have the same problem nothing seems to do it and I’m willing to try
