Hey guys just wanted to get people’s thoughts on escaping light.

So I have a 20g long frag tank that I use to grow out zoas and other lower flow/light corals. I currently have 2 kessil A80 over it which I think do a fine job. My question is...what can I do about the light spilling out of the tank on the back and sides? I had a thought of painting them white as to possibly getting a reflective potential. Is it even worth it. Thanks for your thoughts!!

How far off the waters surface do you have the lights mounted?

You could lower the light closer to the waters surface to avoid light spill. I think kessil says you can mount them as close as 4.5 - 5 inches off the water. Since the A80's are not a huge source of power, you shouldn't have to worry about your corals getting to much light from it :)
