Eshopps 3rd Generation Advanced Series Sump Questions

Guys I am starting a 93 gallon cube and have been gathering equipment and am considering purchasing the Eshopps Adv-200 sump. I cannot find very much info on this sump and there are not very many reviews of it. I don't know if this is because it is not a very good unit or what. If anyone has any info on the pros and cons could you please let me know if it is worth purchasing. There is a heck of a deal on them right now and I don't want to pass it up. Thanks for your help.

I have an ADV100 which is the same layout, just smaller. I’ll go over the pros and cons I’ve found.
Pros
- Looks. I really like the simple, clean, white look of this sump. Just make sure you keep everything clean inside it to keep it up matching that.
- Quality. Sturdy build quality, feels nice and strong and everything worked correctly off the bat.
Cons
- The media tray in the back right MUST be facing a certain way or else flow to the return section will be restricted and your sump will not work. Just be careful when you reinsert it each time and this con is negated.
- Return section, at least on the ADV100 is really small and barely fit my return pump in there. I had to go a size lower than I wanted because of this.
- The flow pattern is really weird.
Other than those few things, I LOVE this sump. The only problem I’ve had with it is the weird media tray thing and I almost accidentally crashed my tank because once it happened none of my equipment, including my heater, were being able to get to the main tank and the temperature started to drop. Avoid that and you’re all good. absolutely would recommend this sump, especially if you’re getting a good deal on it. I was going to do a DIY sump but my old LFS was going out of business so I picked it up for about $120 instead and I really like it.

Thanks for the reply. I did notice the return section is small the 200 is 6x7 that was the concern I have with it especially when running s DC pump. Do you have any issues with the filter sock doing it's job by the way the water flows through it? What size tank are you using yours on? The 200 may be overkill for a 90 gallon cube.

I use the 100 on a standard 90G but it’s definitely a bit smaller than I would like since I always appreciate the extra water volume. I also swapped the skimmer and refugium section so I could have a bigger fuge since my skimmer fit in the other section just fine, all I needed was a platform to get it high enough up. I ended up removing the filter sock since I am not really a fan of them but it did end up getting clogged for me since I didn’t change it out for a good 3 months because I don’t normally use them and forgot about it LOL. Prior to that it worked well though. I use a Syncra Sicce return pump since I have had great experiences with them and it just barely fit, especially with the included float valve the sump comes with.

I was wondering which return pump you are using. I have the 200 and my jebao doesnt allow the float to work.
