Eshopps AZU-100 Filter Sock Removal

Good afternoon guys,

So I have this sump and up until two weeks ago it worked great but since I started dosing phytoplankton my filter sock maintenance went from changing the sock once a week to having to change it every couple of days. So my question is if I remove the filter sock what would you guys recommend I do with that space?

I add 30ml every other day. I was told its good for the corals and copepods. I also plan on getting a clam which would benefit from the phytoplankton.

I just don't want to leave an empty space. Ill rather use that chamber for something else
