Eshopps Deskmate 4.8: Show Off Thread!

Looks great! How do you does your AFR? Dosing pump, or just manually?

Nice looking aquascape too!
Dosing manually now until I finish my lid that has a dosing tube holder.

I was going to order one of the Kraken reef lids but pricing didn’t really make sense. Lid is $100+ for a tank that only cost $180 so not sure what they’re thinking there and just having a local shop cut a piece of polycarbonate to size.

I hear you about the lid! I wanted one as well, but couldn't justify the price! Made my own with a $6 piece of glass from Lowes that I cut down, and then cut a piece of orange acrylic to match the tank.

I"ve actually got a new piece of orange acrylic coming in tomorrow that's 1/4" thick that hopefully will not warp under the light like this piece of 1/8" did. I also accidentally snapped it when making it initially, so that extra 1/8" of thickness should make a good difference.

Also going to take my time making this lid so it's got a cleaner look to it!

@Haggisman14 oooh good call on covering the back area, probably will do the same! Looks really clean.

Added a pistol shrimp and yellow watchman goby to the tank, I’ll get a pic when they’re settled. Currently moving a **** ton of sand around and setting the place up haha.

:star-struck: Some great tanks in here! I am very happy this little wonder of a tank is not readily available in the UK. It would be very hard not to buy one :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

My Deskmate - about 10 months old now. Added an AI Prime instead of the stock light, went with the Kraken cover (I have a couple others on my other nanos and they’re awesome - so well made!) & also got the Kraken filter cup.
2 fish - 1 Yellow Clown Goby & 1 Priolepsis Ascensionis Goby, 4 blue leg hermits, 1 Astrea snail, 3 tiny Cerith snails & a million mini brittle stars that keep splitting.
I love this little tank, although the Monti isn’t doing great.

Is anyone running the eshopps filter media tray?

No sir.

I'm running the Kraken Reef filter cup filled with filter floss, and then I"ve got a bag of ceramic media balls in the rear chamber (the ones that BRS sold with their "kit").

I change out a a small square of filter floss about 2x per week.

Yeah, Kraken seems to make cool stuff but their pricing is...... extreme.
