ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

First inhabitants: I added two Trochus from the 125. One already climbed out and over so I pushed it back in. They may not last long... :face-with-rolling-eyes:

Started printing a dosing tube holder. Kinda hairy but looks like a decent print start.

Also, getting ready to head out to one of my LFS for a small CUC now that we have junk starting to grow in the tank. The two Trochus are a good start but I'm going to grab a couple of hermit crabs and some ceriths for now. I might end up with a margarita snail or two and maybe nerites. We'll see.

Nothing a blow torch can't take care of though

Trying to decide... My wife wants me to do egg crate lid on this one so I'm probably going to print clips for the glass. Do I do neon green for the glow or do I do white or frosted to make them more invisible? I was thinking green for the back, white for the sides, and as clear as possible for the fronts?

Ok, did a quick sketch up on TinkerCAD and have a 4 pack of black printing (it's what was loaded and the back glass is black so...).I'll likely do 4 on the back, 4 on the front, and 2 on each side.

Alright! I got the Plank installed and adjusted the flow on the pump. No fish in the tank yet so it's not running but I'll likely run it once daily for 1 minute to start and adjust from there.

Got my LiveAquaria gift card and placed an order!

I have some freshwater food coming, some more flake for this tank, some nitrifying bacteria in a bottle for this tank, a couple of air pumps, and some more sand for this one! It's a little 0 pound bag but I'm pretty sure I only need another 10-15 pounds so the rest will potentially end up for more Aragocrete then rocks later.

The clips turned out about the way I expected.

I have 4 "clear" on the printer now. We'll see how they turn out but I expect they'll be frosted more than clear.

All 8 clips turned out good. The transparent are definitely more frosted than clear.

I just checked and I don't have enough egg crate so it's off to Lowe's here in a bit. In the meantime, I ordered the ATO pump - it should be here Thursday. I also set up the shelf. Ok, ok, ok. My daughter wanted to build it so I let her and the I tightened all the screws she couldn't get.

Reservoir is set on the bottom awaiting the pump. Betta is going to go up top (or maybe down 1 shelf and a plant above it?).

Pictures in a bit?

Yess, looking goooodd.

Get ready to start designing a shade for the Avast feeder (foreshadowing)... ;)

I too run one in the DT.. Their cannonball needs more air flow to prevent mold IMHO. Air flow vs light emittance is the mission should you choose to accept it.

I saw that and already have an idea in mind, yes.

I was considering a square easy design. It won't look as "clean" but it'll be helpful.

I forgot though, next design is going to be a cover - egg crate to light bracket - to help cover the gaps some. I almost lost the Starry Blenny through the gap there previously and I'm pretty sure that's where the Garnoti and Diamond Goby both went through.

I'm also going to print another feeding port for the other auto feeder and I had to redesign the lid clips a little bit last night - they needed to be a little skinnier. I'll print one later today and make sure it's still strong enough to hold the lid without breaking.

can you imagine not having a printer now?
