ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Build

Sitting on the couch right now.

My son: Oh yeah mom, dad bought some clownfish today.

Wife: You bought more clownfish? How much were they?

 :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Joking Ha Ha GIF by The Animal Crackers Movie

Came home to find out that the power went out for a bit and the old powerhead sometimes needs a jump start (likely a bad capacitor but I'm not trying to find out) so I took the time to install the 2 new powerheads and clean the glass.

Flow looks better, clean glass also looks better.

Had to trim back the big Birdsnest to make room for the little green Birdsnest - Joker is walking up and was about 1/2" or less from the Birdsnest.

Joker's probably about to split I assume.

Also, the Mojave Desert Rhodactis seems to like the flow from the 2 powerheads.

It hasn't opened this much in a long time. Maybe it'll split again also.

Sump's getting dirty and needs a cleanup. I guess I can do a water change tomorrow afternoon. Got some water mixing - I'll suck up the junk and add some fresh tomorrow.

Also, here's why I leave dead coral skeletons in the tank:

Burning Banana is growing back in 3 spots on this skeleton.

What type of conch is Willy ?...:thinking-face:

Looks like a Strawberry or Tiger most likely. Fighters have more pointy stuff typically. Smaller I think is Tiger (also orange stripes) and larger would be Strawberry I think with a less stripes, more pinkish shell.

However, I'm pretty sure Willy is a Camo Conch so likely Marine Conch?

So I got a few (3 or 4?) frags reglued but there's still plenty left to do, I manually dosed some alkalinity but didn't do much more with that because my father-in-law wanted to work on the transmission some more yesterday, I took a shower, no nap, and didn't go to bed until almost 12:45 last night/this morning.

Got up around 7:45, helped my wife get some stuff taken care of, picked up her prescription, and went and helped put the transmission back in my Envoy. I am exhausted but got a bunch of work to do before I can consider a nap.

So my Leopard Wrasse always appears to have a full belly - not sunken. She's always picking at the rocks but refuses to eat prepared foods of almost any kind. She was eating the Reef Nutrition Oyster Feast but I ran out of that.

I've noticed that when I broadcast feed the tank she really goes crazy attacking the rocks with a frenzy so I'm wondering if feeding brings out a lot of the Copepods and Amphipods in the tank or if she "tastes" the food and it makes her hungry?

Either way, she's skinny but no sunken belly so it's weird. Every other fish in the tank is a fatty chonk.

Hopefully adding another variety of copepods next week will help some and then refreshing the amphipod population should help some.

So I picked up some San Francisco Bay Reef Plankton. We'll see if she likes that.

Also, while I was there I saw a Sicce Shark ADV 400 internal filter on clearance so I picked it up for $12!

I may need to turn the phosphate dose off for a few days... It looks like I dosed about 500-600 ml over the last 3 days. Phosphates are probably off the charts currently.
