Hey, at this point you've probably guessed but anyway I recently just placed my Eshopps nano skimmer in my IM20. The question I have is, anyone know the appropriately water level? I've read everything from have the pump a 1/2" to a 1/4" under the surface, to having the bubbles to the middle of the cup. The directions from eshopp are generic and say "wet skim cone neck" which isn't all that useful considering the nano doesn't have a cone neck. I placed it having the bubbles halfway up the tube of the cup, resulted in massive amounts of microbubbles. I raised it to the other suggested height of having the pump 1/2" below the surface, bubbles are gone but the bubbles inside the body only reach to about an inch and a half from the the bottom of the cup. I should mention the tank is empty. This is more just to break it in and get the correct level. I'm not expecting it to skim much of anything. I genuinely can't seem to find a reliable source of information regarding the correct placement of the skimmer in regards to water level. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Evening,

This may help. At the end it will show you about adjusting. At this point though I would not worry about adjusting it other than letting it run for break in purposes. Any adjustment you may make now will change as your tank cycles.

Appreciate the comment, a few hours after I posted I did just as the video had it and left it there. Bubbles are already declining in amount and size. It's my first time with an AIO. Previous tanks had in-stand sumps so I wasn't sure how to treat a skimmer like the nano that just clamps onto the side heh. Again, thanks for the help!

How has the skimmer been doing for you? I'm considering this for a 40 breeder. ;Wideyed
