I ordered an Eshopps Eclipse Medium for my 75 gallon Aqueon tank build, and now that I’ve unboxed it I’m not sure it’s gonna work. It looks as if the tank rim will interfere with the inner box placement causing the water level to be far lower than I’d intended. Is there a way around this, short of using a dremel to cut back the trim? Is there a better overflow for a rimmed tank? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I've used the Eshoppes PF300 on a tank with a rim. I tried looking this one up and it doesn't look like it would work with a rimmed tank.

How was the PF300? Does it work well?

It worked great for what it was. The only pain was priming the U tube to go from the interior chamber to the rear chamber. This does not use a drilled hole through the glass like the Eclipse but rather two separate boxes, one in the inside of tank and one on the outside connected by a U shaped tube. What you need to do is turn on the return pump to get some water flowing into the box while using an airline tube or similar shoved into the U pipe and suck the air out. Once it is primed it worked flawlessly. You also do not need to prime it everytime you turn off the return pump, only after cleaning or removing the U pipe for whatever reason.

Yeah I looked it up after reading your reply. Thanks for the info. I’m probably just gonna send the Eclipse back and keep looking. Thanks
