Quick question for everyone. Searched for an answer and couldn’t find one. Just picked up an Eshopps hang on overflow box. I don’t know why Eshopps made it the way they did, but the 2 PVC pipes inside the box, are too small for the bulkheads on the bottom. My question is, do I really need the pipes in the box? Or can I just let the water flow straight the bulkheads down to the sump?

No you need the pipes in place. One drain will be full siphon. Second drain is your emergency standpipe. If your primary drain gets clogged, your second drain sets in.

Even with the pipes in, both of them are the same height. The hang on overflow wasn’t designed to have an emergency drain.

Not sure but it sounds like they messed up and sent wrong pieces. It will probably work without the pipes but may make more splashing noise than it should. May be able to take bulkhead to store and get PVC pipes to fit.

after doing some more research and watching some videos, seems like this is a common problem with the Eshopps overflows
