I currently have a 125 gallon tank, with the sump pictured below. At the moment I have a HOB Skimmer on the side of the display tank also. In the sump I have two filter socks, marine pure block in the middle section, then the return pump.
I’m having water clarity problems and my ALK is high also. I know I need to use RO water as I just bought a unit and have it hooked up, but is there anything you would add to the sump or anywhere in general that could have a benefit for me and my tank?

Thank you

I should also add that my Skimmer is absolutely trash and isn’t working so I’m trying to find a in sump Skimmer, also looking for recommendations for that too.

Reef octopus 150 with varios dc pump, there are a couple, of models
I've a similar sump eshopps r200.

I took out the filter sox and run a gac & gfo reactor.
Refugium in middle and skimmer in last.
There's a separate refurn compartment.
You might skip the refugium, or plumb an external skimmer or return pump.
