Does anyone have this skimmer? Would you go with this one over a classic 110 space saver reef octopus? I would be using this skimmer on a 54 gallon corner setup

Great news for me then. I had a Vertex skimmer. The return pump it came with was very loud. Also was Huge. I like that the skimmer is compact. Can't wait to go pick all of it up this Saturday.

Is it pretty easy to set it up? I had a problem with the vertex skimmer I had. Couldn't find a good enough setting to where I got a good solid skim. Hope this one works better than the last. Going to pick it up tomorrow

Sorry missed this. It may be kinda hard to get it dialed in at first but after that it skims well for me.

I tried to cut it on last night but it's still going crazy from where I just set the tank up. Gonna try again tonight.
Should the bubbles from the skimmer be really big or small? I'm getting a lot of micro bubbles overflowing in the skimmer cup no matter how I adjust it. Just trying to figure out what I'm looking for.

I will try and take a pic of mine later for you and maybe that would help. It can be a pain but it has to be really really small adjustments and wait about 10 minutes between.

Still having the bubbles overflowing in the suction cup right away. I can't even leave the skimmer on for 3 mins before it overflows the cup. Must still be to early to run it. Does it matter if I close the value to the left or right side?

Ok No Laughing lol here is a crude pic of how mine is set up lol. Is your water level in your sump controlled with baffles or does it fluctuate? How long have you run it now?

I haven't even ran it 2 hours. It keeps overflowing the cup so I cut it off. Take the cup out and dump it and start it back up. Keep in mind i just put my Live Sand in the tank on Tuesday. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the constant overflowing. The tank is crystal clear now so it shouldn't be overflowing. It does it no matter how I adjust the tubing to the right of your photo.

My sump Fluctuates but I add RO/DI water to it everyday to get it back to the right level. My tank is also going through its cycle now. Maybe another factor?

It can take days to break in a skimmer. Really needs to be consistent water level.

So do I need to just take the top cap off and let it overflow into the sump until it breaks in?
