are there any particular reasons why a dispar anthias that was eating flakes and frozen to stop eating? even live bbs doesn't attract it.

I qt 3 dispar anthias and they were eating well in qt/copper power for 30 days. I forgot to treat them for flukes this time (my mistake). Added to dt and all 3 happy and eating as usual, have had for around 2-3months now in dt.
1 anthias has stopped eating for over a week in the dt and was just laying on sand/rock not really swimming much or reacting to food. I managed to get him out of the dt and put in qt with no effort at all, didn't react much when I picked him up in dt as well.

Now in the same qt, i have 3 dispar anthias that are eating frozen only at the moment and 1 small + 1 tiny blue tangs that are smashing food (frozen&pallets). None of the fishes are picking on this old anthias but this one still has not eaten anything for 2 weeks or so now. Pretty much lay still and breathing slowly. I did a fw dip on it thinking it may be flukes, but still no improvement.

Couple nights ago, I just noticed the same thing happening on 1 of the 2 remaining dispar anthias in my dt. Stop eating and not reacting to food.

is this a sign of cyanide poison? if so, i should be expecting the last anthias in my dt to show same reaction soon...

Lethargy and refusing to eat can be symptoms of internal bacterial infection. A broad spectrum antibiotic like kanaplex, Furan2, NFG powder can help. But its important to remember most bacterial infections are "secondary" to some other illness/condition. Probably internal parasites. So consider the trifecta: Kanaplex + Furan2 + Metro (metro treats the internal parasites - flagellates).

thanks, I will look into this. I find fish meds are quite hard to find in Australia. Almost every thing is banned.
