Has anyone used this sand?
It says for marine and fresh water.

Black indicates the presence of iron. It may be fine or it may not be. It can also contain other metals that are not good. Some people found the sand to be magnetic. I wouldn't use black but many haven't had any problems. Imo black sand is in the crushed coral category
