I have my 220 dialed in using esv I really like it but I'm using like 60 ml a day so esv gets costly

I couldn't figure out how to use reef calculator to determine if I'm using X amount of esv how much brs do I need to keep it the same?
Anyone can help me with that I'd appreciate I'm not good at math so hoping it's a simple conversion

Just to clear it up not looking to change levels at all just switching brands of 2 part hoping to keep exact #s

I just used calculator Randy linked awhile back and used 220 gal and calcium at 445. To get to 450 with ESP needed 68.7 ml. Close to your use?. Then I went to BRS site calculator and did same formula using their 2 part ca. Needed to Dose 112.5 of theirs. Some time back I did the cost comparisons and know the BRS was way less expensive. So even if you need to Dose, twice as much i think it will be less expensive.

Ok so if I'm dosing 2min 30 sec every hr with brs dosing pump 1.1ml

I should get pretty close if I up my dose to 4 min 30 sec every hr ???

Brs calculator doesn't make sense to me if I'm not trying to change my levels ??

Wanna keep levels exactly the same just switching the 2 part

I was just suggesting the calculator to compare amount of ESV you now use to the amount of recipe #1 you will need to keep the same levels. Then you can do a cost comparison if you want but as I said BRS, even though you will be dosing more product, will be cheaper and if you mix Randy's recipe yourself it will be even cheaper!

Hi ty I guess I'm gonna just have to do a little trial and error when I switch because I can't figure out how to do conversion with the reef calculator

Randy ty very much I'll just take my current dose X 1.6 as starting point !!
That was the answer I needed [emoji3]

You're welcome.

Happy Reefing. :)

This thread is helpful, as I had a similar question based on recipe#2. Would I be correct in that ESV b-ionic to Randy's recipe #2 ratio is approximately 1:3?

Yes. :)

JDieck has a nice calculator here: http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html

It lets you choose between a number of products including ESV and Randy's Recipes.

BRS also has their own calculator here: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-calculator/
Thanks! I tried to use it to convert when I first got home from work for the conversion and it just wasn't clicking. Clearly I was fried when I got home from work today since it was clear as day how I could use that for the conversion once I got home from the gym.
Much appreciated!
