Hi All,

I order ESV B-Ionic 2 part alkalinity and calcium buffer.

However, the Alkalinity jug is stiff at the bottom and appears to have calcified or something? Possibly happened in shipping?

Does anyone know if I can still use it? Please see the pic for reference, you can see at the bottom.

Thanks in advance,
Andew

Okay cool, so it doesn't like change the composition or mess up the rest of what's in the container that's still it's usual liquid self. Was bummed I'd have to ship it back to Amazon or eat the loss and I didn't want to use it if it's going to mess up my levels

Personally, I'd try to heat up the container by putting it into sink full of hot water first, then shake it up while warm,,, to see if heat will help the clumps dissolve.

EDIT - never mind - see post #4

Been dosing ESV 2-part for 12+ years, kh always has solid in bottom. Read label, tells you all you need to know. Why don't people read instructions first then ask questions if they're unsure???

I have 0.1 NO3 and 0.16 PO4 with algae in sump, can't seem to grow Chaeto but that's another thing, but I grow algae real good. So good it's gotten into DT. Need to raise NO3 and wondering which is better ESV Nitrate (I dose ESV 2-part) or Brightwell Neo-Nitro?

Well, I can assure you that some manufacturer claims are bogus and getting thoughts from folks who know is never a bad idea.

I recommend a diy using either sodium nitrate or calcium nitrate (not potassium nitrate) cheaper than either and Carrie’s a purity assurance that Brightwell lacks.

I’d pick anything from ESV over Brightwell which has a poor understanding of chemistry.
