Hi,

I decided to go with ESV B IONIC for my new 35 gallon (Total Volume Tank). When my Red Sea Test Kits arrived, the first KH test read 6 dKH. I wanted to take it up to 8 dKH and used the reefdyest calculator to know how much ml I had to dose. I dosed the amount told by the calculator and when I did another test the KH went to 9.6. Don't know why it went to high and what I did was testing daily until it went back to 8. a day after it went down to 7.7 and I used again the calculator to know how much ml to dose. When I dosed again the amount in ML I needed it went up to 8.4. So, two things are probably happening here. Maybe I'm having the wrong total volume of the tank, or the ESV B IONIC product came too much concentrated? or probably the calculators are doing wrong?

Can someone give me some advice?

The calculator is not the error. Did you elect normal B-ionic? B-ionic bicarbonate needs twice as much and both are in the calculator.

did you buy the concentrate that needs dilution before use? Did you dilute it?

you sure you estimated the tank volume correctly and used gallons and liters correctly?

Just noticed that I was using the Bicarbonate when I needed to use the original one.

Thank you. Will try again the calc and will get back with news
