Hello fellow reefers.. I currently have 2 gen1 AI Primes over my IM Nuvo 40 mixed reef. I'm happy with the Primes but I have an opportunity to purchase the Maxspect Ethereal for a steal. I haven't been able to find many reviews for the Ethereal, but for $200 I'm seriously considering making the switch. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

That's a fairly good price for that light. My only reservation would be the color spectrum on it. It does look to be rather heavy on the reds, but lacks the ability to directly reduce them as they are integrated into the whites. I'd say if it's in good shape and works properly, go for it and run it for at least 3-6 months to see how everything responds before selling the Primes.

I noticed that when I watch Randy from BRS try to get it close to the Radion AB+ spectrum. He mentioned that there's no direct red channel like I have on the Prime. Thanks for the reply. Still hoping to get a few more opinions but I don't think I can pass on them at the price.

Verdict is in and after running the ethereal for just over a month I am going back to my gen 1 primes. I had some montis' and zoas' recede so that's all I needed to see.
