Hi Everyone, I need help in dialing in a Vectra M1 . I’m using 3/4 silicone tubing, about 4.5 “ head loss, and drops off at display with a 1 inch Y lock line. I have a 90G DT tank with 30G sump. Sump has about 15G running thru it at normal water levels. I’m using 2. 90 degree elbow barbs. 1 is 3/4 inch and the other is 1 inch to bulk head. no check valves, no ball valves, and no reactors. I’m running a chiller with a separate pump.

I would like to know what the optimal turnover rate would be for my tank 4x? 10?
Also what percentage speed I should run the vectra M1 ? 100% at 2000gph minus head loss
or 50% at around 1000gph, minus head loss.
I’m currently running at 60% speed.
All feedback would be appreciated thank you.

Unless you are running a Triton system, I don't think an exact flow matters. Many people run as low as 2x tank volume through the sump. I think 10x is as high as I would go but nothing wrong with going higher if you aren't growing a fuge and don't mind the sound.

Thanks for the input.
