Hi all, I have a reef devil skimmer that looks to be close to fine tuned getting some ok semi wet skimate but on the inlet tower some water is dribbling outside of tube. Don't know if if missing a gasket as the plastic elbow just slid into the top or if it's just worn. My question do I need to teflon tape this or get a gasket to stop the leak since it looks to be working or just leave it be? Thanks for any advice.
I have a new sump on order and after that looking at a reef octopus skimmer to replace this if needed.

I've reread the instructions I found online and it mentions bioballs being preloaded at factory in water inlet tube. When I picked my tank and items up this was dry and empty. The gent I bought it off had a bunch of bio balls more than this tube could hold so I'm thinking the qty may be critical to how skimmer runs.
Any thoughts appreciated as google is kicking my behind on this one

The tube is just too full or blocked with something besides bioballs.

Fill it only to about 1/3 full and try it.

I think it's supposed to correspond to the flow rate you have hitting the tower.

Thanks will recheck tower for any foreign matter and try 1/3 full bioballs.

You definitely have too many bioballs in the tower. I used to run a reef devil and it actually calls for the mini bioballs. Not sure if you are using the full sized bio balls.
