I’ve been trying to get this worm out for months, very elusive and never seen it’s tail until tonight when I went mr miyagi on it with two bamboo skewers… it eventually tried to swim after I prodded it enough.
Pretty sure this is one of the bad ones? I don’t plan to put it back in, but curious on ID.
Thanks.

Or a dorvidae worm.
I think eunice have 5 tentacles and dorvadae have 4.
I'm no expert but tentacles look like going backwards rather than forwards.
Look up dorvadae anyway and see what it says are the characteristics of them

I'm seeing 5 tentacles, but that was my first thought too, Dorvilleidae, because the tentacles are curving backwards. My eunice worms have very straight tentacles pointed forwards
Thanks! There is minimal water in the bowl, when he was in the tank, the tentacles were going forward. I didn’t know the deciding factor were the amount, but I count 5.

I have only seen this one at night, but is this one of those situations where if there is one there is likely more?

I guess only one who has that answer is in time, you will have to just keep eye out

Well…. Saw another one of these last night, so I get to go back on the hunt… anyone able to ID to make sure this is worth trying to catch? Another pic.
