With more time at home I've been debating target feeding. Currently I feed 6-10 cubes of frozen food a day (a combination of PE Mysis, Krill, brine, and herbivore frozen cubes all soaked in Selcon daily). I also add reef roids to the blend of frozen food and selcon a couple times a week for corals.
I broadcast feed. The corals open up and some food falls on them, some fish spit out casings of the shrimp on the corals. Some fish poop shortly after on the corals.
I figure the broadcast method of slightly over feeding, fish pollution, and reef roids is enough for corals to feed on. So, my question is my Elegance opens large every day and is amazing to look at but doesn't seem to be growing or not growing very fast. Same with my Hammers, they all open huge and look great, but, don't grow new branches very fast. (No new branches in 3 months.) Even my frog spawn looks amazing, all puffy and open every day, but not growing new heads very fast.
My alk is stable at 8.5 dkh every day. Salinity is around 1.025 and calcium, whenever I test is usually at 500. Nitrates are usually under 10 when I test, and phosphates under .08 on a regular basis. My PH has between 8.2 and 8.4 on a daily basis. Averaging 8.3 which should also promote coral growth in general.
Thoughts on how to promote Euphillia growth - Ellegance, hammers, frogspawn specifically?
