my euphilia seem to be a little angry not opening as they used to. The frogspawn is opening maybe 50 percent and the hammer not a lot. It opens up in the day but then closes up. Im just wondering could be agrivating them. The frogspawn has been like that for about 4 weeks now. I ordered a hanna ulr phosphate checker but my zenia closed up a little so i dosed 10 drops of phosphate rx and my frogspawn started opening up a little more and my zenia opened up completly my system is about 30g. I know people like to keep their phosphate at .03. I know it is innapropriate to dose without testing but i got desperate. Any tips maybe why they are closing or any solutions. The thing that annoys me is my favia duncun and candy cane are doing fine opening up and the favia and candy cane send out sweeper tenticles at night

My first guess would be Po4, When you get you Hanna you should check that.
This is what it looked like a few weeks ago
Would it be risky to dose a small amount of phoshphate rx to be safe since we strive for levels near 0

No, I'm thinking you don't have much Po4 in your system so corals are starving.
i was getting some algea. Ill wait until my hanna comes in.

How long has the tank been running? I would agree and don't do anything till you check with Hanna
Tank has been up for a year now, added corals maybe 2 months ago. everything was fine then around christmas time my hammer closed up and has only partially opened.

My aquarium has had PO4 as low as .05 and as high as .27. Every system is different and you don't necessarily need to have it at 0. My FrogSpawn is always open regardless of PO4 levels. Wait for your checker before you do anything. Maybe PO4 isn't the problem.

Let us know what you find after you check Po4. thats a good place to start. You could maybe run some carbon in the meantime and a poly pad for impurities or toxins. Do you use RODI water?

Yes i use rodi i replaced my filters a couple of days ago. I also am running some rox carbon in my filter sock.

my all recently went up to 11.6 because i was using the red sea coral pro salt. And i have let it drop to 10.8. Im aiming to get 9.5 is it safe for me to allow this gradual decline. I also read somewhere that flatworms could be be irritated the Euphilia. I know i saw red planaria. I have added a wrasse. Whats the best way to check for flatworms and should i consider using flatworm exit.
