Euphylia sickness ? Or any parasite?

Hi, my Euphylia Paradivisa is having some “melting” issues like in this picture

Can someone give a quick idea of what can it be? I am going to make some tests today but with the proper tip, I might go to the problem faster

Not sure, but dip in iodine... I see rotting flesh.

When I lost two of my euphpyllias they were gone in a day flat. Nothing I could do, still don’t know for sure what happened. Hopefully it’s not BJD. Good luck.

Yesterday I saw an ophiuro in the middle of the Euphylia and I took him off

Could it be him?

Very unlikely. Worst thing a brittle star might do is irritate it. The coral doesn’t appear irritated or annoyed based on the previous photo.

What inverts do you have in there? Shrimps crabs etc?

Yes I have a lismata shrimp and a couple hermit crabs

And yes I don’t think the brittle star could do it

No I have no adds of any kind

My tank is just 4,5G and I don’t add anything as it would be very hard to control quantities and any little change can be dramatic

I have very low flow as my micro Reef Tank has only 4,5 G and it’s the same since it’s start

And the Euphylia grown a lot since I bought it one year back

This picture was taken 5 minutes after I cut the sick head, the other two were still “awakening” as they got closed when I pull the frag out the tank

Regarding PO4 and NO3 I am going to make the tests this evening and I will post it when done

You can see in my previous fotos how the cut head looked like yesterday

Regarding Feeding, I never gave coral food in this two years in my reef tank, lights and fish food and weekly Water Change has been the program

But this last 3 weeks I had a led issues in my lights and I have an emergency light that may not be enough

That is my main concern now and I am about to fix that problem

is there a way to know if they are still there ?

Sometimes I saw my Euphylia contract as if something bites it, so I loooked for sometime if I saw some parasite upsetting it, but never saw one

Crush it, super glue and cut back on feeding.

If the Vermetid gets too close, it can irritate it.

These ones were in the Euphylia main Central hard part

And “irritate it” means it may cause what we saw in that arm that I cut? Or irritate just causes stress and polyps close up ?

After two days, the Euphylia seamed ok and when I got home, the “Head” that is closed to the bruise, was all closed

I though It was getting sick too, but then I saw the hermit nearby

And a few seconds later there he was “eating” on top of the bruise, should I do something o cover the bruise ?

Now that I run the hermit away from the Euphylia, it stretches back it’s polips
